If you had a limited time to live…

So, if you knew how long you had to live, what would you do with that time? Would you be depressed, closeted or do something meaningful?

Zach Sobiech, at the age of 14, found out he had a rare form of terminal cancer. So he became a rock star, and millions of people got to see his music before he passed away on May 20, 2013. This is his beautiful story.

You never know what to expect until you lose someone dear to your heart this way.

Kanye West Names Album ‘Yeezus’

Kanye West’s sixth solo album will be titled “Yeezus” and released on June 18, according to a Rap-Up report on Saturday. West’s girlfriend seemed to confirm the title in an Instagrammed photo later in the day:

West’s label, Def Jam, has not responded to e-mailed requests for comment on the album title and release date.

Known collaborators for the rapper’s followup to 2010′s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” include Daft Punk, The-Dream, Skrillex, John Legend, Big Sean and 2 Chainz, among others.

The rapper debuted a new song, titled “New Slaves,” on Friday night in an unconventional series of public screenings on sides of buildings around the globe. On Wednesday he performed two new tracks, including the auto tune-heavy “Awesome,” during a corporate gig for the Adult Swim network.

Tonight, he returns to “Saturday Night Live.”

Until we can confirm that “Yeezus” is indeed coming on June 18, here’s…

Dr. Dre Back In The Studio, N.W.A. Film On The Way

Dr Dre

Dr. Dre is heading back into the studio, with reports that the much rumoured N.W.A. biopic is finally off the ground.

One of the most iconic producers hip hop has birthed, Dr. Dre has been away from the studio for too damn long. Focussing on his groundbreaking USC tech project, it seems that the break has left the West Coast artist feeling rejuvenated.

Chatting to LA Weekly (via HipHopDX), Dr. Dre revealed that he is desperate to get back into the studio. “I’m more inspired to go back into the studio now,” Dr. Dre said. “Beats is rolling, this (USC) thing is happening, and it’s incredible. Now I’m ready to go back to my first love.”

The producer is not working on any specific project, though – it seems that Dre missed the thrill of a creative project. “I’m going back to the studio,” he continued. “Not for any specific reason, but just to record because I love to record music. I’m going back in and hopefully the next Kendrick Lamar or the next Eminem walks in the door and I can work with that artist. I’m going to record forever.”

Elsewhere, Dr. Dre revealed that the much vaunted N.W.A. movie has finally been given the green light. Speculation has surrounded the film for some time, but it seems that shooting could begin shortly.

“We just got the green light from Universal,” the producer revealed. “I was just with (Ice) Cube and F. Gary Gray yesterday writing the script, so it looks like it’s really happening. Gary is directing the movie. It’s going to be a true story. It’s going to be based on all the true events that happened.”
